Frequently Asked Questions

Can you give some examples of the work you do with businesses?

Given my background, I like to look at the business from a holistic viewpoint. There have been times when I met with a business owner and the initial problem area isn’t the real issue so it is important to be able to look at the current situation from every angle. Some examples of the work I do are:

  • Leadership style includes the values and culture of the business both from the leader’s perspective and from the employees, dealing with any misalignments.
  • Analysing the business’s current structure, including job analysis from the top down –can assist in seeing where skills are being underutilised and where there are gaps. This also assists leaders to see where they are currently at versus where they need to be.
  • Understanding financial reports and assisting with budgets and cashflows
  • Managing people, for example, employees promoted due to their technical skills may need assistance with their people skills. Performance management and dealing with conflict within the business.
  • From analysing the current resources within a business, I can then work with them either as a “sounding board” or assist with formatting their strategy and putting concrete action plans in place.
I have been in business for a few years and would like someone to come in and review some of my processes and give me some guidance, can you provide this service?
I would be delighted to! Mentoring is not just for new businesses. It can take time to put policies and procedures in place. When you start a new business most of your time naturally is spent on your new product or service, so getting structures in place can take a back seat. You need to be aware of and take into account, all of the legislative requirements, so that you are informed and can plan to move forward.

This is something we can help you with.

Which emotional intelligence competencies does the Emotional Capital Model focus on?
This particular model focuses on, Self-Reliance, Straightforwardness, Optimism, Self-Actualisation, Self-Confidence, Relationship Skills, Empathy, Adaptability, Self-Knowing & Self-Control.
Why did you choose the name Propel 2Gether?
I believe that it is very important that we work collaboratively with our clients, it is not about what we think is best, whilst it is important to provide information and guidance, each business is unique and so it is not a “one size fits all” approach. At the end of the day, the client’s vision has to be at the heart of all we do. That is why moving forward together encompassed the ethos of what we are trying to achieve.
I see under your credentials you have LIFT facilitator; can you explain what this is?
Founded in late 2017 LIFT Ireland is a not-for-profit initiative aimed at increasing the level of positive leadership in Ireland. LIFT, which stands for ‘Leading Ireland’s Future Together’, was built on a desire to change the country for the better by changing the way people view leadership. It aims to do this through its eight-part, group learning process. LIFT’s programme is being rolled out nationwide via a volunteer facilitator network with a goal of reaching 10% of the population by 2028.  www.liftireland.com

Testimonials

I contacted Nikki from Propel2gether in June 2023 in relation to a work-related dispute.
I was upset, stuck and angry at this point. I felt undermined and unheard at work. I explained the details of the dispute and how I felt to Nikki.
Nikki listened, understood and helped me to identify what it was that I wanted to achieve in relation to resolution. I also gained an awareness of the role that I played in reaching a resolution.

Working with Nikki helped me to gain perspective and to understand that I had choices. This in turn gave me more clarity to identify what I wanted to do moving forward. I gained confidence and in doing so strength to approach the conflict at work with a different mindset.
With Nikki’s wealth of knowledge and experience, I was able to focus on a solution-focused approach.
Collaborating with Nikki in this way gave me direction and renewed confidence. I could now work on and focus on what I could change as opposed to what I had no control over.

With continued encouragement and guidance, I felt stronger and able to move forward. I believe that the skills and techniques that I have learned from Nikki will help me to manage and cope with any other work-related issues in the future. Nikki provided a person-centred service tailored approach to meet my needs and in doing so I feel better equipped as an employee and a team member.

Thank You Nikki

Roisin

I am texting you to let you know a couple of things as I just left the office and sitting in the car, you are my very first message. We have finally put an end to our partnership and I have made all the necessary changes and actions to make things as seamless as possible.  Why I am texting you is because none of this would have been possible without your help and support.

Thank you for all your advice and suggestions for moving forward and all your wise words of encouragement to help me through the most important and challenging situations, there were moments where even when you weren’t here that your truth was in my head.  Thank you so very much for being there and being competent in all you do, which was a blessing to me.

Floods Taxi Services Ltd.

I can’t recommend Nikki highly enough! She is methodical and meticulous and cares about the job she does and the people she works with. She continuously up-skills and is always on top of the latest information and best practice. She will assess your business on a practical level and brings a wide experience to the table which she can apply to whichever part of your business requires it most. She will be the best investment you make in your business.

In the spirit of transparency, I should add that I am Nikki’s sister and also worked with her for twenty years! However, every word of the above recommendation is accurate and would be confirmed by anyone else that has worked with her or has been taught by her. I wish her the very best of luck with her new venture and know that it will be a great success.

Credentials

Sometimes in life our paths take us in a direction that we were not expecting to go and this has been my experience. In saying that, twenty “odd” years later I know now I am where I am meant to be, my passion is helping other people get to where they need to be. Every day is a learning day for me and I love upskilling, attending workshops and courses on a variety of topics. Over the years the most effective method of learning for me was from gaining practical experience and then getting my qualification to back that up.

I have worked in various industries from banking, insurance to a start-up Nanotechnology company.   In 2000 I started my first business ProTemp with one of my sisters.  We provided Business Administration Services for SME’s which we ran successfully for 14 years.  I will always remember one of my clients saying that “they didn’t start their business to deal with all the other things”, all he wanted to do was sell cars.  Our business offered a vast array of services to help business owners achieve their goals.

From there I was part of the Management Team of a manufacturing company as their HR Director with responsibility also for H&S.

I also deliver management courses for the CMETB in their evening provision.

As I start my next venture I can see where all my previous positions have given me invaluable experiences for me to share with future clients in all of the services I provide.

I have listed below the list of courses I have attended so far to solidify my learning.

–  Advanced Diploma in Employment Law – The Kings Inn

–  Diploma – Accounting Technicians Ireland

–  Diploma in Business and Executive Coaching

–  QQI Level 6 Professional Practice Certificate in T & D & also Manual Handling Instructor Course

–  Certificate & Advanced Certificate in mediation

–  Certificate in Payroll Techniques (IPASS)

–  Emotional Capital Report Certification – Roche Martin

–  Cavan Monaghan Educational Training Board (Course Delivery and internal Validator).

–  Board Member Youth Work Ireland (Meath)

–  LIFT Facilitator

–  Member Accounting Technicians Ireland

–  Member Irish Payroll Institute
